Stuff to watch, listen to and learn
from
3:15 PM - I thought it mildly
humourous when the rep. of the BC Civil Liberties Association said that
the government shouldn't have given Bill C3 to the Senate so late with
the warning, "Pass this bill or bad things will happen to national
security."
I think Harper made it clear earlier in the year that bad things are
going to happen to the Senate itself.
This
article in The Canadian gives insight into how Bill
C3 is integral to Canada's shift into a US style of government.
1 PM - Senator
Raynell Andreychuk,
in her eagerness to give credit to the Senate committee for coming up
with the idea of using "Special Advocates", has just shown that this is
a farce hearing, since the government
has adopted the Senate's recommendation!
To show just how dim Stockwell Day is, he said that
the Senate committee should take "umbrage
and pride" in their contribution.
Canada's lawyers don't even want to be
Special Advocates, it is such a mockery of justice!
ParlVU
- Beginning at 12 Noon Senate Committee public hearings on the
anti-terrorism legislation.
Watch Stockwell Day trying to justify the
Security Certificate. And after that hear saner testimony from
others, including Mohamed Harkat.
Thanks to Marjorie, a long but completely rational article:
GlobalResearch/ZNet:
There is no "War on Terror"
You can learn the difference between wholesale and retail terror and
find out who is perpetrating which.
Thanks to Marc, a site called Free Documentaries
that has compiled a list and access to a wide variety of informative
videos, and is an excellent complement to the Dossier.
I've added a permanent link to the "Important Videos"
page.
And don't forget to visit Blog2 to learn
about the Security
Certificate and Bill C3, and also to see great photos of the latest
Montreal
march against the siege of Gaza.
