Conspiracies, old and new
There's a
theory
that old people don't lose short term memory so much as they just get
easily distracted. I could be proof of that.
Brent Jessop from Knowledge Driven Revolution posted an interesting
comment today that sent me off in all directions, and my
planned treatise on free speech vs hate speech got pushed aside.
Hence, I have nothing to say today except that anyone pondering the
concept of a New World Order should take a look at Brent's
series of articles.
After that you might be interested in Wikipedia's
fairly thorough rundown on the number and variety of theories
regarding who or what is behind the New World Order, not to
mention that the concept itself has been discussed since at least the
early 1900s.
But if your taste in conspiracy theory runs to the more immediate, more
personal, you might be interested in how far afield the Spitzer case
has drifted. In that case, read Xymphora's
take on the possible conspiracies that brought him down.
