Tell me another one ...
A child was killed, but it's being billed as "an attack on Karzai".

Hands up all you who believe the story that "the Taliban" tried to assassinate Hamid Karzai, because I have a genuine imitation wristwatch you might like to buy.  Whoever put on that inhuman display was aiming at anybody but Karzai.  I mean, he was right there on the VIP platform for pete's sake - standing still.

You really have to wonder, don't you? how the shooters were able to set up in a building overlooking the ceremonies when there was "unprecedented tight security" in place.  Wouldn't you think that a building right near the palace would be the first place that security would set itself up to watch over their president?  At least, wouldn't you think they would sweep the building and put guards on it?

Oh sure, they are "investigating" that, but the desired heads have already rolled. Somebody should investigate what kind of Karzai assassin "the Taliban" would send who couldn't even hit the target. What sharpshooters they were, only able to hit targets 30 yards away from Karzai!

It's the JFK/Oswald/book depository scenario all over again concerning where the shots originated.  And how quickly the culprits were rounded up - and killed so they could tell no tales.  Yet:
British ambassador Sherard Cowper-Coles was standing on the front row of the dais alongside the U.S. envoy to Kabul.

"It was coming to the end of the 21-gun salute. I saw an explosion and a puff of dust to the left of the parade and then heard the crackle of small-arms fire from all directions"
(underlining mine)
It smells.  And it  look like the usual fine line that propaganda walks - on the one hand attempting to make NATO look like winners by saying the "the Taliban" has been weakened, and on the other hand not wishing to dampen public enthusiasm for this lucrative war - lucrative to the corporations that win fat contracts for war services of one kind or another.

If you get a chance, have a look at the video "Iraq for Sale", and the kind of money being made by non-government industries offering cutrate services at cutthroat prices.  It's not much different in Afghanistan.  The devil is buying up a lot of souls right now.

From a Vancouver Reader:
The Untold Story of How the Canadian Government Sabotaged Barack Obama
This is a good, easy to follow analysis.  The Harper government are eager shills for the corrupt US administration and its fight against democracy.  McCain is slated to win, and that's that.
