Same old same old *
Think up a title and Google it, and you'll find there's a song by that name. I never knew this one before today:
"the way you act now seems like we’ve been friends forever but lookin’ into those lying eyes I know better"
* Same Old Same Old Lyrics
1) Holy Land Mishuga-ness ... 2) Nobody isn't mad at Robert Mugabe ... 3) While in the custody of servants of the people ... 4) Media participating in scams
1) Holy Land Mishuga-ness
Good old CBS, always with an eye to distracting the public from the emperor's ugly naked body.
Israel Prodding U.S. To Attack Iran (CBS) (Thanks to Ron for the link) If
you don't, we will. Israel held a dress rehearsal for a strike earlier
this month, but military analysts say Israel can not do it alone.
It wasn't long ago that Bush said the US "would come to Israel's aid if it were attacked by Iran and welcomed the Jewish state's plan to define its borders"(CNN).
How coy now to pretend to be reluctant. It doesn't take much to produce a pretext that can be passed off as an "attack".
Or is the US administration more concerned about the price of oil than anything else these days?

I wonder if the Associated Press is aware of revealing how hard
Israel works to ensure that truces with Hamas don't succeed.
Hamas says it will not police truce with Israel (AP)
The
militant group Hamas said it remains committed to a cease-fire with
Israel, but will not act as Israel's "police force" in confronting
militants who breach the truce [...] "No one will enjoy a happy moment
seeing Hamas holding a rifle in the face of a resistance fighter."[...]
Islamic Jihad had said Tuesday after a meeting with Hamas that the
rockets were an "exceptional" response to the West Bank fighting,
suggesting that they would abstain from further rocket fire.
Okay
so far. Hamas is keeping its word and trying to get others to do the
same, no matter how much Israel tries to provoke them into action.
Mind you, the "others" are also heavily infiltrated with Shin Bet
operatives who have declared that 'Hamas [is] planning mega-terror attack in Israel' (YNet),
with Iranian weapons, no doubt, and presumably even if Shin Bet has to
get the whole thing going themselves. Israel does not intend to allow Hamas
to survive, peace talks or no peace talks..
As the Associated Press says:
Many
previous Israeli-Palestinian truces have unraveled in such ways, with
minor violence gradually escalating and spiraling out of control. The
sides committed to the truce for six months.
But they neglect to give a clear picture as to how these minor skirmishes get started. Instead, they only hint at it:
In
violence Wednesday, an elderly man was shot along Gaza's border with
Israel and moderately wounded, Palestinian doctors said. The man, 81,
was walking east of Khan Younis in southern Gaza when he was shot in
the arm and hand. His family and Hamas accused Israel of shooting him.
The Israeli army said it didn't know of any such incident.
Well, would anyone expect Israel to say, "We did it. We wanted to provoke Hamas into some sort of retaliation"?

2) Nobody isn't mad at Robert Mugabe
Queen strips Robert Mugabe of knighthood in 'revulsion' at violence (TimesOnline)
The
British Government also today announced it intends to block the
Zimbabwe cricket team from touring England next year... Gordon Brown
also called on other countries to help Britain have Zimbabwe banned
from next June's international Twenty20 competition.
Even
Nelson Mandela is reportedly getting ready to speak against him. But
think about it for a moment - up until a short time ago Mugabe was
favoured by the very same entities so outraged at him now. They didn't
mind him coming into power in the midst of intimidation, bloodshed and ballot dumping.
Dear
Libby, so demure with the hat and the purse and the gloves, isn't at
all "revulsed" by the rest of the violence that has gone on and is
going on in the world with the help of some of her most loyal subjects.
Oh, but that's violence inflicted by the "white" nations. That's different.
When
Mugabe was assisted to power by the west in 1980 he did so on the
promise of reconciliation with the whites who owned the bulk of the
arable land. But then he started to gradually take land away from the
whites in the hope of improving economic conditions for blacks. That
was sort of the fashion in South Africa, handled gradually through the
courts. 80% of liberated South Africa was in 2005, and probably is still, owned by "whites"(NPR).
But
then Mugabe ran into opposition in government. A new western favourite
was being groomed. He responded by accelerating the program of land
transfer, calling out his own loyal subjects to assist him. Worse, he
is defying western orders to call off the election until the new chosen
one is ready to run, and the people are well conditioned to accept him.
I'm
not sticking up for Mugabe; he's an opportunist product of western
colonialism who had a good thing going for himself until he became a
liability. I'm only saying that all this looks like the same old game.

3) While in the custody of servants of the people
Get
ready for more of the following as we move inexorably toward
privatization of public services and the creation of a police state:
Teen might still be alive if not for series of failures: prison investigator (CP)
Her legal odyssey ultimately ended in psychological breakdown and
death in a cell where she slept on a concrete slab and was often
heavily shackled.
Man who died after being Tasered had drug issues (SympaticoNews)
The incident follows the RCMP's announcement last week that it will
provide officers with clearer direction on when and how Tasers can be
deployed.
Now see why I'm skeptical about police promises to cut back on their addiction to Tasers?
[OPP
Sgt. Pierre] Chamberland said it's important to note that Tasers are
only issued to those OPP officers who have been properly trained in
their use.
So rest in peace, and be comforWedneWeted by the fact
that you were struck down in your prime by an officer "properly
trained" in the use of Tasers.
Specially trained Nashville officers will be allowed to use Tasers (WSMV)
Amnesty International said in a report last year that 156 people had
died in the U.S. after being shocked by police stun guns, including 61
the year before.
If 156 deaths were caused by any disease,
there would be a universal vaccine against it quickly developed.
Doesn't addiction to tasering qualify as a disease? Or at least a
mental problem?
Ont. gives $5M to help fight guns and gangs in T.O. (CTV)
"Our government is sending a strong and categorical message that we have zero tolerance for violence and its perpetrators"
Unless they are wearing the approved uniform.
Notice,
the money is given to the cops, who will no doubt buy more Tasers, and
fill up the prisons to make them saleable to profiteers. No matching
amount for addressing the causes of streets gangs, though. There's no fun or profit in that.

4) Media participating in scams
TAX FREEDOM DAY A SCAM (StraightGoods)
Media should stop parroting Fraser Institute propaganda, which is based on flawed statistics.
Darn
right about the media! They are complicit in so many scams they might
as well open call centres and hawk crap by phone. This article has
prompted me to resurrect and dust off my old FI page: The Fraser Institute - anti-Canadian, eh?. Click on "Tax Freedom" to see my full response to the Straight Goods article - if you're interested, that is.
