OTTAWA - Human Rights Day,
December 10, 2005
Protest on Parliament Hill against Secret Trials in Canada and on behalf of Christian Peacemaker Teams members held captive in Iraq. STOP SECRET TRIALS IN CANADA ! - ABOLISH SECURITY CERTIFICATES - NO DEPORTATION TO TORTURE - LET THEM GO, OR GIVE THEM FAIR TRIALS!  This was
the scene
as people began to gather on the Hill. Jessica Squires, organizer, at
microphone: Christian Legeais, media relations person for the Justice
for Mohamed Harkat Committee, at far right. The man in the blue
and black jacket at far left is none other than Abdullah
Amalki who had just finished addressing the crowd as I arrived.
I also missed Sophie Harkat's
speech, but here she is below in the black jacket next to the leftmost
member of the men in the orange suits ...
 and here she is later with Mr. Amalki and Halima from CAIRCAN ... (earlier reported in error as Mr. Amalki's wife)  and again amongst supporters of
Mohamed Harkat that included a number of election candidates.
