December 31, 2004

My heart and prayers to all the victims of the tsunami disaster.  Let it be a reminder to us all that we need to support aid and relief organizations, we need to defend the United Nations and to work on improving and strengthening it - NOT on destroying it.  We need to work together as citizens of this globe.

I fear what is ahead, when the spotlight goes off on this tragedy, when the media finds a new sensational story to run and when the victims of this horrible fate will have to face the rest of their lives in their poverty stricken world.

Humanity will be tested once more.  How many of us will then rise to the challenge?
